At one median, below the other
Hey guys, I know that Mylsn can give general ideas, but my question is broader than the Mylsn answer.
My LSAT is 168, which is exactly the median at Northwestern, Michigan, and UVA. My GPA is 3.52 which is at or below 25% at all three.
My question is, because it's an up-year in admissions, is being at the median basically treated the same as being below the median, since the goal is to improve and increase? Or are they waiting to see how many above medians they can get before considering someone like me, who wouldn't hurt their stats, but wouldn't raise them either??
I hope that made sense. I've gotten into Cornell, GULC, and Vandy, all schools in which I'm above the median. And obviously i haven't heard back from any in which I'm below the median. Really just wondering about being AT median. Thanks

I think 168 has been the median at nu and mich for a couple years now, so you might still have a solid shot there. I imagine UVA will be a bit harder to crack.

I have been wondering the same: I have a 168 but a 3.99 and got waitlisted at Duke and am still waiting on UVA (since early November).

can't comment on most (because I had to withdraw my applications) but I have a 168 lsat 3.35 GPA and got into Northwestern early decision with the scholarship. I think you have a good chance there.

It is not clear what effect an upswing in applicants would mean for medians. Perhaps schools would increase their medians, or perhaps they would increase class sizes to make up for their previous reductions.

Yeah. So far have 2 outside scholarships too. They are fairly small, of course, but still helpful.Sparkymilarky wrote:ARE YOU SERIOUS?
