Chances are very, very, very good. Even without the soft factors, he has a decent shot (based on looking at LSN, his numbers alone as a URM would give him probably around a 50% chance, probably on the lower side of 50%). Then throw in the softs - being an officer in the armed forces. He's going to have the resume and (should have) the personal statement that will blow the ADCOM away. He is one guy for whom a personal statement has a high likelihood of making a difference, so he needs to pay more attention to that (and to having a clean resume) than usual.gaddockteeg wrote:Asking for a friend who just asked me.

I'll be the one to say this though: He should retake, since his status as a AA Male with a low but not foreclosing GPA means that with a retake and a score of like 163+ his scholarship situation gets a lot better at GW and he's substantially more likely for admittance to the T14, and depending on the score jump, possibly solid money. Once he'd get towards the 165'ish range, he could be looking at half-off tuition in the lower T14.

more than likely in. He has a good shot at Mich and Cornell, as well.

His T14 chances, as his numbers currently stand, aren't great-though oddly ur right michigan has been favorable lately
