Chances for a full ride? URM 160 LSAT 2.86 GPA

Post by calmike » Tue Nov 10, 2015 8:12 pm

Hello,
I am applying this cycle. Which schools should I apply to that will provide me with a full ride? With a stipend would be even better. I am considering applying to schools in CA but I would also consider out of state schools.

My List:
Loyola
Pepperdine
Southwestern
Golden Gate
San Diego
Santa Clara
Hastings
Chapman
Whittier
San Francisco

A full ride is nice, and its okay to dip well outside of the top 50 school, for Lord please don't bother with Golden Gate! Please google "(school name) lst" to get the law school transparency jobs figures for the schools. Golden Gate is literally one of the absolute worst of all US law schools (I think they were 2nd worst job figures, out of over 200). Even full ride with stipend, don't bother.

First, Troianii's post is very good advice. Use LST to figure out what schools are actually going to give you a decent chance of getting a good job.

Second, I'm not experienced with taking the URM bump into account, but retaking the LSAT is definitely worth considering.

Finally, what do you want out of law school? What sort of law do you see yourself practicing? Why law school? Answering these questions may help people guide you to the best school for you.
