Mechanical engineer graduated from a state university. also have a m.s. degree with no significant publication
After reading the admission median for lsat and GPA, I realized my gpa is my weak point. I may still have a 50% shot at CCN (not NYU because of my low first write), but definitely no chance at HYS
I've heard from this forum that admission committee may give engineering GPA a slight boost. So how big is this boost? maybe a multiplicative factor?
also, any top14 may prefer engineering major?

Take a fat scholarship at GW... what's your engineering major? If EE, CompE, ME, or maybe even biomedical engineering, your job prospects would be way good even at median or slightly below (this is definitely true for EE and CompE, maybe not so true for ME and biomed). You'd probably get close to a full tuition scholarship.

You are right!! ME's job prospect may not be as bright as that of EE and CS, although we do share a lot of sub-disciplines. We have to stress our programming experience when interviewing for jobs. It is this very situation that motivated me to get a better LSAT as well as more prestigious law program.
