Early Decision to UCLA or USC
Hi. Chances?
3.88 GPA
161 LSAT
Volunteer overseas for 2 years (Included in Personal Statement)
1 year of working experience
Non URM
Should I just attempt the Dec LSAT instead?

Take the December LSAT. For the love of all things holy take the December LSAT. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain, including full-ride scholarships to USC and UCLA. You have a shot at every law school in the country with that GPA. Don't waste it on paying full sticker at USC or UCLA if you ED.

What if under these circumstances, would you recommend the same?
1) Finance is 100% covered
2) UCLA is ideally my top choice.
Dec LSAT is definitely an option. However, there is no guarantee that my scores will prove to be within the 25% percentile range. And it will be a regular decision.
Thoughts?

Money is still money. Unless you can literally only spend the money on law school or light it on fire, then it is still worth it to retake.
Why is UCLA your top choice? What do you want to do?

Ok first of all, ED will not boost your application that much, if at all. So I am strongly recommending you study hard the next 5 or so weeks and retake so you can get into your dream school (UCLA). I don't think a 161 will do it even being ED.
Second of all, you got nothing to lose. Like I said ED won't help much if at all. So even if somebody is going to finance 100% of your education your better off trying to score better to get in and then hopefully get a scholarship. Then go ahead and ask the people who were going to finance it to pay for your living expenses or if that's covered too for a new car or motorcycle or cruise or something.

What do you think about my chances of it? Go for it?
Also, is it possible to still sign up for the Dec LSAT in case I get rejected?
It is the location, along with the fact that it is the top school in LA.

Is USC a possibility with an ED?
Not sure how much I will have to raise my score but I assume it will be around 4-5 more points within the next 4-5 weeks I have left. That's a pretty big boost in a month. Attainable but it is something I am keeping a realistic perspective on.

It is extremely obtainable. Your chances at USC with ED are only marginally better. You are about to spend 3 years with somebody paying a lot of money for your education. In my personal opinion, and not to sound overly harsh, if you can't buckle down really hard for 5 weeks and give the LSAT your all then you may not have what it takes to truly succeed in law school

Thanks. That definitely motivates me to study harder for the next 5 weeks. This will actually be my 3rd time (if I take Dec) taking it and I have been studying since March. I can't seem to find any consistency.. My RC 1st time was a -10, this time around being -5.
My logic games I normally score -1/0 but this time, i got a -7.
Feeling like on my best day I can get the score I need but just going to have to work on it more.
