Re: Should I ED UVA? Reverse splitter
If debt isn't a concern because you/your family are rich as fuck, ehh I guess this plan isn't terrible. You'd still be limiting yourself though, because it's not like you're shooting off apps like ping pong balls in the lottery. The same things that will get you accepted to very good schools with your current numbers this cycle will get you into even better schools with an improved LSAT next cycle.

Make sure you know what you're getting into before you ED. Trust me. I EDed Cornell and am glad I didn't get in. It's easy to be wide eyed when applying. That figure is astronomical, even with folks with $$$/or you have big savings/spouse that can pay it off. This is coming from someone who ended up at a lower ranked school and has yet to land a (good) 2L summer jerb.
The plan isn't terrible, especially if you're biglaw or bust.
Good luck!

Do you know what terrible, terrible things I would do for that GPA?
You have an LSAT score that shows you understand the basics. With some more work, you can get 168, which will get you some great options. If you can break 170, you're looking at a Dillard. That GPA can work wonders for you, don't sell yourself short.

I was a splitter that did ED, with a bad gpa long in the past that I could no longer change, and I still somewhat regretted doing it. Not because UVA isn't a great school with great faculty and an awesome culture that provides a pretty good shot at getting biglaw. But because I would've wanted to know where else I could've had been accepted, but was forced to withdraw after I got accepted at UVA. Maybe that's a dumb point, but it's also kind of a bummer that because I was so risk averse I don't know what my ceiling was.
You being in a position where you are still able to feasibly change your situation from "reverse splitter" to "extremely solid applicant" is a great place to be. Sure, apply this cycle, but especially if you're comfortable with waiting till next cycle do not ED.
