I got my undergraduate degree outside US, and my graduate degree and some working experience in the US. What are my chances of being admitted into a T14 school? Also any possibility with scholarships?

Northwestern ED seems promising. Outside of that all the lower T-14's are good targets with some $$.

it is tough to call, but a half scholly from Georgetown is definitely in order.I would stay away from GWU.

Thanks. Just curious, could you elaborate a bit about GWU? It seems to be a good option if you want to stay in DC for IP law.

I think it actually matters here whether your undergrad was Canadian or not. Canadians have a U.S. GPA and in that case, you'd be a moderately big splitter and ED Northwestern would be a good option. If you didn't do a Canadian Undergrad, you'll probably just be lumped in with the rest of the "Above Average" and you'll have a stronger app.

In your situation, I would ED Northwestern and apply RD to the mid-lower T14. If the ED doesn't pan out, I would expect you to be looking at money from Cornell and Georgetown in particular. I am far from an expert on IP employment, but I think you should have better options than GWU. Do you have a preference for a geographical area post-graduation?

GWU's ED comes with a full ride. If you don't get the $150k from NU, EDing GWU would be a really good option for someone with an IP background.

I did my undergraduate study in China, not sure how that is going to affect my application. In terms of geographical preference, I do not have any. Currently I am exploring what are my best possible options in terms of schools and financial aid. Considering my credentials, I want to find a balance between these two factors. Employment wise, I prefer a law firm in the east coast (Boston, DC etc) after law school.

Yup. Obviously apply NU first - I think the deadline for that is around November 15th. GWU is just a "binding decision" type deal that I believe you can do at any point in the cycle but you should double check that.

If that 3.34 is your GPA for a Chinese undergraduate degree then you're gonna get an LSAC foreign transcript evaluation (which will almost certainly be "above average") instead of a reportable GPA on your application. I suspect this will actually help you, as it's better than having a 3.34 U.S. GPA.
