I think that you are absolutely in with these numbers. I had near your exact gpa when applying and a 165. This was this cycle and they offered me 105,000. Numbers are going to matter a lot more than sifts so make sure to get on and look at law school numbers.
Another thing to think about is that Emory is good for Atlanta. So is uga and they will most likely give you a free ride. But Also duke and vanderbuilt may be better for the city. If you bump up the lsat and/or gpa these schools could be viable options as well.
And gpa-retaking won't replace bad grades in lsac calc and this is what schools look at. I've got 2 fs in lsac land from when I was being dumb one summer at a college that let me take free credit. They aren't on my graduating transcript but they were on my lsac profile.

I am retaking some course at the community college i went to for two years, the policy for that school is everyone have one chance to retake the class and the first GPA would be excluded from the GPA calculation, So does the LSAC count in the first GPA even the school exclude it?Attrition wrote: And gpa-retaking won't replace bad grades in lsac calc and this is what schools look at. The only reason I would get such grade for the couple class i am retaking right now is because i was sick that semester, i hold on as long as i could but by the time the doctor told me i need to be hospitalized i already passed dropping deadline, my adviser told me to just let it be and retake after because the GPA would not count anyways.
It would be so bad if LSAC count them.

I would say talk to your school and possibly call up the lsac office . Maybe your school could take them off the transcript If you can prove special circumstances? As far as I know though the lsac will be inputting all grades revieved.
Ultimately though- not the worst position in the world. your gpa will take a hit but splitters still get into great schools and you still have a chance to get some a's and bump it up.

Questions about what LSAC will count or not count are probably best directed to LSAC itself.yfang12 wrote:It would be so bad if LSAC count them.

Emory is a TTTrap school, I would go with UGA instead
What kind of law do you want to practice?

I am still juggling between family law and health care law. Haven't decided which one yet, but more leaning towards family law.Mack.Hambleton wrote:Emory is a TTTrap school, I would go with UGA instead
