170 - Retake or Work on App?
I'm applying to law school in the fall, and want a decent shot at HYS.
I graduated magna cum laude from a top 5 LAC, and have a great and unique resume. I got a 170 on the June LSAT, and I'm trying to figure out if I'd be better off retaking or spending that time on my application to make it stand out/sending in my app early. Not sure if the few points I'd go up would be worth sending in an app late.
Looking for advice, appreciate any help! Thanks!

Do you think you can do better than 170? If so, retake. Never leave LSAT points on the table.

Apparently this guy got a 180 and is going to show everyone who checks out his videos how to get 180s too. You should check it out. http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 3#p8702073

I think so. I was scoring around 175 on my practice tests. I'm working so I didn't have as much time to study, a few more months might make a difference.

If you think you can improve, then retake. It can't hurt.lawapplicant91 wrote:Nomo wrote:Do you think you can do better than 170? If so, retake. Never leave LSAT points on the table.

Keep taking the LSAT until you either get a 175 or run out of retakes. A 175 is way more valuable than a 170. It could be the difference in going to Duke or Harvard. It could be the difference in getting 20k/year at Michigan and getting a Darrow.

You're at 25th percentile for HYS..
That's what they're gonna care about

What is your GPA? You could potentially offset a 25th percentile LSAT score if you are above the school's 75th. However, I'd highly recommend bringing both above the 50th at least.
As you said, you think you can do better. The difference a few points can make in your cycle is huge.
