Re: 3.96/172 with a twist, requesting advice
Isn't there a way to request a re-score? I thought that in circumstances where you could show you skipped a bubble, LSAC would adjust your score?

Retake.
But going to straight to law school with a 3.96 in econ from duke... Yikes
You could sleepwalk into a good job and make some money for a few years. You even admitted that you're tight on cash.
A few years of work experience will also get you closer to lock status at yhs

obv pay the $100 to have it rescored and get on the line with an LSAC person today and talk to them about it. i would arbitrarily give u a 50% chance of having LSAC agree with you and them rescoring your test. if they don't just retake and you'll be fine. also maybe don't go to law school b/c u can make more money in econ.

Agreed. The website seems to imply that handscoring is for machine errors, not for something like this. That said, I think you have a strong argument that if the purpose of the LSAT is to test aptitude, this is a clear example of your machine-giving score not accurately reflecting your aptitude. I agree that you maybe have a 50/50 chance of winning this one, but only if you're super persistent, super persuasive, and you left 18 blank and bubbled 19-26 as if they were 18-25 on a test that only had 25 questions--e.g., your last bubbled response is for a number with no corresponding question.FloridaCoastalorbust wrote:obv pay the $100 to have it rescored and get on the line with an LSAC person today and talk to them about it. i would arbitrarily give u a 50% chance of having LSAC agree with you and them rescoring your test. if they don't just retake and you'll be fine. also maybe don't go to law school b/c u can make more money in econ.
Also, if that doesn't work, I'd consider talking with one of the various paid admissions consultants to see what they think. I wonder if there might be some sort of addendum that you can submit along with your score. I don't know that it'll help tons at CCN on down, or even H, but I think YS--which are more concerned with what sort of students they let in than their medians--could be receptive to something like that, so long as it was worded well.

DUDE. Congrats.QuentonCassidy wrote:For closure on this thread, I retook in October and got my 180. Wish I hadn't had to drop the extra cash but that's what I get for making stupid mistakes.
