3.8 167- chances at Berkeley, T14?
Hi all,
I recently received a disappointing 167. Realizing this all but shuts the door on the top 3, I'm wondering if I have a respectable shot at Berkeley, or any other school in the top 12. I'm guessing I could still be Ok at Georgetown, but was hoping for a 170+ to help me slide in to Berkeley or elsewhere. Here's a brief rundown:
3.8, 167 at a top 30 national school (no ivy but good reputation). I have 2 years of good work experience and also had impressive extracurriculars in college (I know everyone says. This but bear with me).
Anyway, any chance at Berkeley or elsewhere? Or did I just nail my coffin on the top 10 with a 167? Retaking the test is unlikely, I work 65+ hpw.

The varsity athletics might help admissions at Cal. But unless Cornell decides to pony up it's probably not a good idea to go to law school until you can get that LSAT up a few points.

Cross country & track. So not the sexiest sport, but still.Mack.Hambleton wrote:Retake

Any reasoning behind retake? Given my time constraints, it's doubtful I will be able to score much higher. Although, I may just be being pessimistic after getting that score.

That's a major bummer. The prospect of living in Ithaca for 3 years or going to a school outside the top 14 is a buzzkill. Here's hoping you're right about Cal.BigZuck wrote:The varsity athletics might help admissions at Cal. Also, am I right to assume Gtown is still safe(ish)?

Not sure what other information you expect us to have. Those are you chances - if you want better chances, retake.Eaglehaslanded wrote:Had already seen it and used it. Thanks, though.Kinky John wrote:mylsn.info
If Cornell's median raises to 168 you might not have to worry about living in Ithaca, so there's a possible plus for you

The time constraints sound rough, but if you are serious about going to a T14, you need to retake. You have a competitive GPA, and breaking 170-173 would mean thousands of dollars saved and much, much better employment opportunities.
Good luck
