I'm not going to offer any advice because I'm a 0L who hasn't even taken the LSAT yet, but I will say congrats on that score!

Don't ED, I think you'd get in RD, and you're losing out on getting money from other schools. Nyu is foolishly expensive to willingly sign up for at guaranteed sticker.

yeah don't ED unless your family is ultra rich or you have GI Bill+Yellow Ribbon and won't have to pay. And even then I'd probably just play it straight and see what's out there. NYU is one of the most predictable schools around and your chances of getting in RD are high.

Nu is NOT giving that scholly to splitters and I wish people would stop suggesting that.TheodoreKGB wrote:The NYU ED bump is said to be close to nil. You've got a good shot RD.
But if you really want to ED...
ED to Northwestern and get that $150,000

I mean, it never hurts to ed nu as a splitter. As far as hail marys go, its not the worst investment.Clearly wrote:Nu is NOT giving that scholly to splitters and I wish people would stop suggesting that.TheodoreKGB wrote:The NYU ED bump is said to be close to nil. You've got a good shot RD.

Doesn't the ED still hold a fairly significant boost to RD admittance rate, if you're rolled into the general pool?Clearly wrote:Nu is NOT giving that scholly to splitters and I wish people would stop suggesting that.TheodoreKGB wrote:The NYU ED bump is said to be close to nil. FWIW I would only recommend ED'ing Northwestern if you're a splitter or are dead set on going there

They do give the NW ED to some splitters but from what I've seen only ones that are not too far from the GPA medians (so like a 174/3.5)
Worth a try at least imo

Re: Chances at NYU with ED?
There isn't any edge you need to be pushed over at NYU. Barring a very poor application, which wouldn't be cured with an ED, you'll get in. You know people with similar numbers who got in because NYU lets just about anyone with numbers in that range get in. They have to in order to keep their medians high and maintain their large class size.
Also, if you'd be in "decent" shape (whatever that means) at full sticker price then you'd be in great shape with a 50k scholarship.
