Do I have a chance to go to Law School? Lsat147/GPA2.6
I am a Chinese, late in her 20s. I took Last Dec 2014 and got 147 (I guess I am not a typical Chinese who are adept at taking all exams). My GPA is under process by LSAC, but I guess it’s no more than 2.8. Personally, I worked several years for an International Organization as TA. Considering there is no professional ladder for me to move up and I am badly interested in legal studies. I would like to take my chance to apply to law schools. As a most of Chinese, I am only familiar with some big names, such as Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, Chicago, Berkeley etc… apart from that, I am no idea about the rest of law schools. I would like to get more sensible way to learn more about them (no choice considering my score) besides all the information available online data. So I am wondering if I could seek some advice from the native speakers about the school selections (if there is one that I could go to). Please see my considerations as follows:
1) With a good reputation
2) Any school ranking 30-100 (no sure if T3-T4 ranks from 50-100, and will pick up other two or three schools ranks from 30-50 as my dream goal)
3) The school is strong in other field e.g. economy, public policy, philosophy, history, political science etc (all othrer social science would count)
4) Location, cost, scholarship advantage etc…
5) Other consideration I did not think of…
It will be highly appreciated that if you have some schools bearing in mind just met with any of aforementioned consideratons (of course, the more the merrier), I am also thankful that you could share the reason with me. Thank you so much in advance. Have a nice day:)

Unfortunately, you almost certainly will not be admitted to any "top 100" school.

You will not get into any law school worth going to.
Don't go to law school.

Without a solid command of the English language, law school in the US would be very difficult. Additionally, any applicant with a 147 LSAT score & a 2.6 GPA is not a good candidate for American law schools, in my opinion.
Consider getting a master's degree in public policy or in economics if those are your primary areas of academic & professional interest. Duke & LSE are good starting points for each degree respectively.

Although most law schools admit students using their highest LSAT score, a 147 first take coupled with a sub-3.0 would definitely raise flags at any admissions office. Even if you score a 180 on the next test, adcomms will probably look at your scores very skeptically.
OP, I would find another career path. You can definitely work in international organizations dealing with legal studies without having a JD, so your dream career is not out of the window.

Thank you for all your advice. After Lsat, I started to question my IQs. Do not want to say goodbye to law school

I don't think your LSAT score has anything to do with your IQ--much more likely an English comprehension issue. Might be worthwhile to take some more English courses and then apply for a Masters degree. Good luck!

Besides, OP's future in law is dismal. Why bother continuing this conversation? She is better off pursuing another career path.
