3.2/171- Best chances?
About me:
LSAT: 171
GPA: 3.2 (UChicago)
4 years out of undergrad with pretty good work experience
Considering retaking, but doubtful I will be able to do much better than a 171
Desire to do either BigLaw or a federal clerkship immediately out of school
Practicing location is not extremely important to me, but I like Boston, LA, NYC, DC, and Chicago
I'm planning to apply to:
Columbia
NYU
Chicago
Virginia
Michigan
Northwestern
Cornell
Texas
UCLA
WashU
George Washington
USC
William & Mary
Minnesota
Washington
(Basically covering many of the top 30)
--What schools do you think I have best chances at?
--Is this a good approach for applications?
--Any idea where I might have a shot at $$? I've been saving for a while, so I can't seem myself qualifying for financial need, but I also don't want to deplete 4 years of savings (+ likely loans for COL and such) on law school.
--I still need approx 3 weeks to get applications finished (letters of rec, waiting on a transcript, etc), will end of January be "too late"?
Thank you for your help!

Obviously your "best chances"are for the worse schools, your best good chance is northwestern with that work experience and lsat I'd guess you're good. If I recall correctly chi likes their own and will weigh that. It's still a long shot for sure, but better odds than most people with your digits there. Uva possible, probable with ED, but I wouldn't recommend it. Add Penn to your list. They're historically gpa heavy, but they've recently let in splitters and you might have a shot.

You are planning on applying to GWU, but not GULC? Why?
Similarly, you are planning on applying to USC and UCLA, but not Berkeley. Why?
