Hello, friends. And thank you for reading. I've been self-teaching since around mid-August. I'm 26, in an artsy-ish field and just always kind of had a passion for law.
Last Wednesday/Friday/Saturday. I took three prep tests, the first two self-proctored and the latter being Kaplan proctored. I scored a 167, 167 and 165. I took a fourth test today and scored a 162, but am hoping that that's primarily due to a head cold and the fact that I've had a rough week at work.
So, how am I lost? Well, for one, I'm not so sure about when I'm supposed to take this thing. My Top 3 schools are Fordham, GWU and Maryland. I had a relatively modest 3.45 GPA at my artsy school. After a rough summer prevented me from taking the September LSAT, all of what I read said that taking the December LSAT is not the end of the world. That getting into good schools is, relatively, easier than it has been in the past. Still, I can't help but wonder if I'd be better off taking the test in February or June, but then again, I've poured into all the Kaplan and Princeton and PowerScore books and at this point, I'm not sure how much more I can study/learn.
Which brings me to my second problem. Is there a plateau? If you have a plateau of 165-167 does it get worse after a month or stays the same (hopefully, a point or two higher?) Part of me says that this LSAT thing is a skills test that can be learned and I should be committed to going balls to the wall until I score a 175. On the other hand, with a full-time job plus freelance work, my time is really limited to 10-15 hours per week before I simply burn out and what I'm studying/reading isn't registering anymore.
So there we go. I'm a mid-20s guy looking to go to school part time. I'm (usually) scoring in the mid 160s and I am curious as to when/if I should take this thing...I should have saved you all the trouble and just settled on this last paragraph.
THANKS!

Dude you need to take way more than 4 PTs. Look at the LSAT Prep sub forum for good advice on getting a high score.

Oh, I know. I figure on taking plenty more. I was just giving an example of where I am. I took one a few weeks into studying - went hardcore for about 7-8 weeks and then started taking practice tests regularly last week.
