First advantage is diversity:
I'm youngest of nine children, raised by a single mother in a somewhat extreme case of poverty (grew up on food stamps and free school lunches), first generation college grad.
Second advantage is debate background:
Fifth at nationals, 8 years collective debate experience, 2-3 years additional experience coaching policy in the inner city (this overlapped with my time in undergrad though-I'll be one year out by enrollment).
I also worked throughout school in a few positions, one of which involved some civic engagement in the elections.
Given numbers, softs, and shrinking applicant pool, is there any chance at HYS? LSN says no. Is it worth the applications? I have a fee waiver, but I have to pay 28 bucks per app I send out through the LSAC. I'm a white male.

For 28 bucks I'd apply to Harvard but your chances are extremely low.

And the other two as well, or should is Harvard the only one with enough chance of acceptance to warrant an app?Tiago Splitter wrote:For 28 bucks I'd apply to Harvard but your chances are extremely low.
