My GPA is a 3.58.. Could of been higher but started off my first quarter of college with a 2.98 due to being really sick and then received a few 4.0's to compensate for that. (might write my PS on this topic). I am not sure what my LSAT score will be.. I took a powerscore class and the sept LSAT and am just waiting for the score to come in.. My best timed score was a 160, while I took the June 2014 LSAT untimed and it was a 167.. I felt like just a week before the LSAT I was starting to have a breakthrough and could of really bumped my realistic score to a 164-165 if I had just three more weeks at least to study.. I am assuming my LSAT will end up around the high 150's, low 160's.

I plan on applying to UCLA (possibly ED), USC, Davis, Hastings, Loyola, USD, and maybe BC/BU/ or Northeastern.

Would it be more wise to apply by the end of Oct with my 160 or take LSAT again in Dec.? Also, is it possible to apply to these schools in say Oct. and have it show on my app that I'll be taking the LSAT in Dec.? Will they wait for that Dec score to make the final decision?

You'd probably do better on the LSAT if you sweat the details a little harder i.e. "could have" instead of "could of"

The credited response. And really the only response you'll get. A 3.58 isn't great but it's not terrible either. With a high LSAT you'll still stand a good chance of getting $$$ from all the schools you mentioned. Never ED UCLA. Terrible idea because UCLA is definitely not worth sticker price of attendance unless your family is incredibly rich and willing to fund 250K+ or the cost is covered by military, etc.

Sit out and retake. It will change the course of your finances for your entire life.

Never said it was low. It's a solid GPA that's low in relation to the medians of the T14 and UCLA but still can be used with a high LSAT to obtain admission and $$$ from good schools.

Just keep on retaking he LSAT until you get a score that will get you a huge scholarship at those schools. None are worth going into a lot of debt for.

Don't apply ED to UCLA, sticker debt there would be crazy. Don't go unless you can attend for 100K or less.

So, short answer: Yes. A 3.58 is a low GPA if you're planning to make law school a worthwhile endeavor.

OP, don't apply until you have an LSAT score in the high 160s - 170s.

It's not low overall, but for t-14 (and some other schools) it's below median. 3.75 is around the median score for most t-14s... obviously that wildly varies.

You can into most schools with a 3.58. A 173, 3.58 would prob get into Columbia... but for sticker or close to sticker price.
