3.87/167 chances at T-14

Post by tfarunner » Tue Sep 30, 2014 6:48 pm

Just curious what my chances are at T-14 (dream being Columbia or Harvard) with a 3.87 from a large state school and a 167 LSAT. Two double majors, phi beta kappa, division I XC/Track, and two years in Teach for America.

Also, not sure how relevant geographic diversity is, but I come from a very rural southern community (like 2,000 people). Not sure if that helps, but may contribute to diversity.

Also, non-URM.

Any thoughts?

Aware re-take is probably going to produce the best ROI, but I am just curious what it would be otherwise.

out at h, out at c
chances look best at lower t14
money situation looks pretty grim though
so i hope you're rich

with a retake and a 4 or 5 point bump, you could put just about every school in play
and see $$$ at multiple t14s

So with 4-5 points you think Harvard or Columbia would be within reach?

Of course I have been to both of those sites and looked up both of those numbers. I was more interested in how the softs play into it, or what they would do to the chances?

Here's what mylsn.info says:

3.8-3.94 + 166-168: H 0%, C 0%
3.8-3.94 + 171-173: H 54%, C 81%

Retake.

Really, very little? I have heard mixed reviews on the soft value of TFA?

Idiot, look at law school numbers. You are not a special snowflake.

It's insane to me that you would put in all that hard work but then be too lazy/afraid to squeeze a few more points out of the LSAT.

Your softs aren't going to help you punch above your numbers. So if you aren't happy with what your numbers will get you, you need to change your numbers.

Not too lazy, nor did I say I would not re-take. I was simply curious what weight that held. I have also looked at law school numbers... as the comments of idiocy, asking a question and looking at said site are not mutually exclusive.

Thanks for the help.
