Re: AA male, 170 3.3 GPA...retake?
Apply, retake in December, send scores, see what happens. If you're not happy with your options, don't matriculate.

If you think you can score higher you should retake. Even if it doesn't change your options, a 172 or 173 could make a huge difference in scholarship money. Don't leave money on the table. Score as high as you possibly can.

I'm always a fan of retaking, but you have a great score. From what I've read, only a handful of AAs score 170+ each year.
You'll get great money in the T14 and into at least 1 or 2 of HYS. Not sure the retake would really help prevent the inevitable ding or two if there are other weaknesses in your application (like your GPA.) Yale isn't a sure thing for anyone.

Feb is pretty late. That definitely could have affected getting WLed.
Theres really no downside to retaking, though. Might as well.

Black Male, hopefully Ill be applying with similar numbers, 3.3 GPA, Did a total of 9 PTs averaging 170, but averaged 174 on my last 3.
Your waitlists from last year are very encouraging, Ill have submitted all my apps after I get my LSAT score in october.
CCNP with enough money to bring COA with interest down to 200k would be great. But ill blanket the t14 in order to negotiate aid.

Theres so little competition though, 30 or so AAs get a 170 or higher, so you dont need to worry. And work for what? To make $11 an hour?

It's not a sure thing, even for AA 170's
Looks like that guy applied in mid Jan tho. Which is a LOT later than applying in like Sept/Early Oct.
