But still apply to schools lower than CCN, just in case and for scholarships.

It's not unheard of, especially during this drop in apps. I would definitely shoot for HYS and expect CCN with OP's numbers.

Me same demographic (3.0/168/Engineer) free ride @ 2 T10's when I applied.
