URM 3.8GPA 170LSAT

Post by mysojuli » Fri Aug 22, 2014 8:38 pm

Hello,

I'm a Black African American Female with a major in Criminal Justice.

I've been very involved in leadership positions for my entire college experience. I listed my involvement below, just in case it makes a difference in my chances. I really want to go to HYS. What's my chances at HYS?

(My involvement for the last 3 years...)

-President of Enactus
-Internal Communication Director for Enactus

-Communications Director of Sorority
-Chief Financial Officer of Sorority
- Greek Ambassador

- Community Volunteer Ambassador

-Marketing Coordinator for On Campus Food Pantry

-Internship at law firm this summer

You're definitely in at Harvard. Probably in at Stanford. Coinflip for Yale.

Apply more broadly than just HYS. It's an immensely bad idea to foreclose on your options by not applying for them.

I think you should be good for at least two of HYS. Make sure to apply on the early side and submit the best recs/ essays you can.

Also, apply to some other T14 schools just to hedge your bets. You'll be looking at full scholarships from CCN down and those might be preferable (or at least comparable) to HYS.

Good luck!
