170/3.55/softs enough for T6?
I have 5 years of military service. Undergrad was from a little known liberal arts school. I also have a master's degree from a fairly reputable state school. Are my softs enough to make me competitive for YHSCCN. I'm especially interested in Chicago.
Also, should I emphasize my military experience in my PS or is it enough that it's in my resumé?

Military service is actually one of the better softs or softs that can allow an individual to over-perform their numbers so-to-speak. I'd say you have a good chance at CCN.
-Best of luck to you and thanks for the service

Thanks for the responses. I feel like I'm a lock for at least a few of the lower T14, but hope I can over-perform my numbers as you say penguin.
I've got what I think are some solid recommendations, both professional and academic. I know every detail is going to be important so I'm gonna majorly stress out over my PS for the next couple of weeks.
Definitely want to be ready for Chicago and Cornell apps to drop on 15 August...can't hurt to be super early right?

an extra two points on the lsat would make a huge difference
have you thought about giving the september test a go?
you could still send out your apps early and update the schools with your september score
and you don't even have to improve much, even a 172 would give you much better chances at ccn
just a thought

Solid shot here at N. The others will br iffy especially cls because you're below both medians. Try to get in touch with the military affinity groups at each school to see if you can get strings pulled

Also retaking would be useful. You're already going to get into Cornell with money and Chicago doesn't really touch applications until December so August 15 doesn't really mattertwr90 wrote:Thanks for the responses. You definitely don't need to worry about getting the apps in that early, especially if it means submitting something that isn't your very best product.twr90 wrote:Thanks for the responses. Military service definitely helps you outperform. It certainly did for me.

Hey everyone...In at NYU
170 was above my peak practice test scores after months of prep...so I definitely wasn't going to retake. Super excited to have acceptances starting to come in. Fingers crossed for U of C.

And I am post 9/11 eligible, SpanishMain. Seems like what NYU offers with YRP is slightly over the cost of tuition?
