Reach school asked for clarification - chance?
A school that was a big reach for me asked for clarification of my academic probation while in undergrad. I applied 2 months ago and they just got back to me. According to law school numbers, my LSAT and GPA does not even come close to those admitted. My sister attend the law schools' undergrad and also played a D1 sport for them and was also captain her senior year. - if that has any influence...
What are they chances they would actually admit me?
If they were going to deny me, why ask for clarification? I already submitted a GPA addendum with my original app. Are they asking for clarification just so they can consider my app complete so they can deny me or do I actually have a shot?

It would seem reasonable to infer that they don't see you as an auto-reject, but there's no way of knowing. Just send in the clarification they ask for and see what happens.

The school is Villanova.
My GPA is a 2.56 and LSAT is a 143.
How could they possibly accept me?
Or are my chances looking good, now that they've asked for clarification?

If they weren't considering you they wouldn't bother doing their due diligence. I think it is a very good sign.Donnis wrote:The school is Villanova.

This is a completely serious post. The email sent seemed like your standard automatic email sent out, which is why I question whether or not they are seriously considering me.
Thank you all for your optimism.

If this thread is legit, please be aware that taking on $250K of non-dischargeable debt to attend Villanova -- a school that gives you a coin flip's chance at securing an actual lawyering job of any kind, most of them being of the miserable, low-paying kind -- would be a catastrophically terrible decision.Donnis wrote:The school is Villanova.

Re: Reach school asked for clarification - chance?
I have 3 years legal experience and have been promised employment with the same firm upon graduation. So the issue won't be my ability to find employment, just the starting salary and my ability to pay off the 250k for the rest of my lifetime.
A legitimate concern, but I still would want to attend.
Based on law school numbers, people were rejected with numbers much higher than mine so I do not see how they could seriously be considering me.

I do not think you should go to law school. Lots of unexpected things can happen to "guaranteed" job offers and 250k is too much debt, regardless of where you're going to school.Donnis wrote:Any one else have any input?

This is not a thread about whether or not I should go to law school.

Doesn't really matter. You're making an awful life choice. Your scores are somewhere in the bottom quartile of all law students. You are going to an awful school that will never give you the chance to pay off the astronomical loans you will be taking out. If you won't listen, hopefully someone in your position will if they see this.Donnis wrote:This is not a thread about whether or not I should go to law school.
