Hi everyone! My stats are below:
174 LSAT
3.8 GPA - ivy league, double major (one social science, one hard science)
3 years' work experience at a research job
I'm shooting for HYS, but am a bit concerned about my GPA. Does anyone have thoughts on whether admissions committees take any pity on hard science GPAs?
Thanks!

They don't. But you have a solid shot at H anyway. YS are always unpredictable.rc52160 wrote:Hi everyone! My stats are below:

Why would they take pity on a 3.8 lolrc52160 wrote:Hi everyone! My stats are below:

Re: 174 LSAT, 3.8 GPA, 3 years WE
I am only speaking from two specific data points, but my SO was hard STEM undergrad double major with a 3.6; he also has a STEM masters degree. His LSAT was two points below yours. We're both starting at SLS in the fall.
I personally had a 170/3.8 and chose SLS over HLS. I'm non-STEM. Got into HLS in April, got into SLS off the WL about a week ago. I'm K-JD. It's do-able.
I will definitely concede that we're both extremely lucky people and have above-average softs for our age; I think our rec letters, PS, and overall applications were both probably extremely solid, save for my LSAT and his GPA.
Just thought to inspire a little bit of hope, but I would be surprised if you didn't get into at least one of HYS (specifically H) with those numbers. Make sure that the rest of your application is completely solid
If you have any other more specific questions, feel free to PM me!
