3.82/176
I know I've got fairly solid numbers, but I have almost literally no softs of any kind. How much does that affect what I should be going after.

I was just wondering if I should deduct a few points to get a more accurate picture when looking at sites like mylsn because of having pretty much nothing else at all.

What you should "go after"? I don't understand this post. I mean, this really doesn't make any sense. What'd you come here for? To debate the merits of spending $200 on applications to Stanford and Yale? You're an IDIOT if you don't apply to Stanford and Yale. And since you got a 176, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you're not an idiot. So...I guess back to square 1. What is the point of this question/whatd you come here for?dknickwins wrote:I know I've got fairly solid numbers, but I have almost literally no softs of any kind. I suppose "go after" was probably the wrong choice of words. And yeah I'd apply to Stanford and Yale anyway. I guess what I really wanted to know was how much I should lower my expectations in terms of acceptance to the top schools and money at lower schools because of my lack of any sort of softs.daleearnhardt123 wrote:What you should "go after"? Your expectations should match what LSN shows you. Not having softs will matter, but not in any predictable way that would lead you to lower your expectations.dknickwins wrote:I suppose "go after" was probably the wrong choice of words. Thank you. That's basically what I wanted to know, whether or not there was any real way to quantify that.malleus discentium wrote:Your expectations should match what LSN shows you. by and large (S and Y are big exceptions here) these schools are "buying" your stats. They're not buying your softs, because those softs don't appear in, or influence, US News. On the margins these things matter but i'd expect full rides from many T6s on down.
