retake or not?
Just got my june LSAT score, 169...a few points short of what I was hoping for. 4.0 gpa from berkeley, oxford masters degree, spent 1.5 years working as a paralegal at a civil rights firm. Very strong softs and recs. Any chance at H/Y/S/Columbia? Should I absolutely retake in the fall? Worried about dropping a point or two and being averaged down...would really appreciate any advice! Thanks!

Re: retake or not?
Don't worry about being "averaged down" - that's a myth.
You currently have a good shot at Columbia, and H/S are possible too.
But you really should retake and aim for $$$ at the CCN group, or much safer admittance to H/S. Yale becomes possible with a retake too.
Good luck!

You have a shot, but not a great one. More likely out at HYSC, but in below everything else. With that GPA though, couple more points and boom, make it rain.

Definitely does not have a good shot at Columbia. Chances at YHS range from poor to nil.Fiero85 wrote:Don't worry about being "averaged down" - that's a myth.

Study more and retake, OP. You're not far away from YHS or a T14 full ride.

Hmm yeah I was wrong. Columbia don't joke around about the 170+ line. UChi has more mercy on 4.0 sub 170 people.
Def gotta retake OP
