I'm retaking in September but just in case I don't improve my score I was wondering. UIUC's medians have dropped a bunch in the past few years
Fall 2010: 167
Fall 2011: 163
Fall 2012: 163
Fall 2013: 160
I know the first drop was due to them falsifying numbers but there was a significant drop again last year as well. It's a pretty decent school so I expect a jump in median lsat for the incoming class this fall, but with the declining number of applicants it may remain the same.

Re: UIUC 162/3.1
This is something I was wondering about to, and as a result I chose to attend WUSTL instead, though UIUC would have been somewhat cheaper. I don't know the answer, and I have heard opinions on both sides of the question. To me, it just wasn't worth the risk...should-i-do-it wrote:I'm retaking in September but just in case I don't improve my score I was wondering. im guessing there medians will stay around the same as last years, due to the fact that i know a bunch of people including myself were offered half tuition scollys with a low 160 with 3.3 gpa. they are probably trying real hard to keep the medians from bottoming out even more.

Re: UIUC 162/3.1
I faced the same conundrum. For me it was WUSTL at sticker, ND at 1/3 off, or UIUC at 95% off. I ended up choosing UIUC over the other two because of the insane difference in cost, and the very similar employment prospects. The reality is that UIUC, like WUSTL or ND, has strong employment due to it's large alumni network. UIUC lawyers working in Chicago are not going to suddenly start hiring kids from Iowa just because of a couple years of bad rankings. UIUC's employment numbers have gone up over the past few years, not down.workaholic82 wrote:This is something I was wondering about to, and as a result I chose to attend WUSTL instead, though UIUC would have been somewhat cheaper. Anyway, OP, you'll almost certainly get into UIUC. I personally think attending on the cheap is the only way to go for non T14 schools, and UIUC will probably throw some money your way. Probably. You'll almost certainly get in, so apply to it and a few others (Iowa, Indiana, etc.) and then negotiate scholarships and see what happens.
