troll?
you won't get into Harvard unless you can break 3.5 and get a near perfect score on the exam, and even then it's an uphill battle.
your best shot at a top school will be Northwestern

It's not going to happen.
And why do you have such an obsession with specifically (and exclusively?) Harvard?

I wasn't able to achieve my dream of going to an Ivy League school in undergrad due to a medical issue.BigZuck wrote:It's not going to happen.

It really stings that it appears it has cost me with regard to law school, as well.
At the end of the day, it boils down to the urge to be considered "smart." I don't have much else.

again, troll. you really need more in life to motivate you. attending a particular institution doesn't add inches to your dick or really make you any more valuable as a human being.Hopeful24 wrote:I wasn't able to achieve my dream of going to an Ivy League school in undergrad due to a medical issue.BigZuck wrote:It's not going to happen.

If you just want to go to an ivy league law school, Penn has a pretty low GPA floor.

Going to any ivy league school doesn't prove you are smart. Find another way.Hopeful24 wrote:I wasn't able to achieve my dream of going to an Ivy League school in undergrad due to a medical issue.BigZuck wrote:It's not going to happen.

Not a troll. How low is Penn's GPA floor? What about Cornell?jbagelboy wrote:again, troll. you really need more in life to motivate you. attending a particular institution doesn't add inches to your dick or really make you any more valuable as a human being.Hopeful24 wrote:I wasn't able to achieve my dream of going to an Ivy League school in undergrad due to a medical issue.BigZuck wrote:It's not going to happen.

Lay prestige may be the worst possible rationale for choosing a law school.

Ever see the movie Stranger Than Fiction where the cupcake baking lady says she went to harvard law school, and shouldn't have gotten in, but she wrote an essay about helping people and changing the world? Maybe try that?

Re: How To Get Into Harvard- Extenuating Circumstances
I have struggled with some medical issues for the past little bit, which adversely affected my grades. I finally feel I am on the right track, and I want to attend Harvard Law School.
I have a 2.47 GPA right now on 60ish credits. If I earn straight As for the remainder of my undergrad career, I would come out at a 3.2 GPA.
What else would I have to do, sans a 175-180 score on the LSAT (I plan to study very hard and use this site's enormous amount of LSAT prep information as a helpful tool) to gain admittance to Harvard?
Would a Master's Degree or PhD make up for my low GPA? How about joining the military? Would Harvard overlook my GPA if I had a convincing reason for my poor performance?
I know I have a long road ahead of me. I am just curious if the Harvard Law path is doable.
Thanks for reading and thank you to anyone with advice or answers.

Re: How To Get Into Harvard- Extenuating Circumstances
As someone at HLS, trust me, you are seriously overestimating the happiness that getting into an Ivy League school will give you. As with all things we desire, upon attaining Harvard Law School, you will feel a happiness boost--initially. That boost may last for a few weeks. But after those weeks are up, you will acclimate and return to your previous "happiness level."
Moreover, if your only reason is "lay prestige," then you need to seriously consider whether or not you truly want to attend law school because of an interest in the law. If not, you won't be a happy lawyer.
Best wishes...

Re: How To Get Into Harvard- Extenuating Circumstances
I am not very smart and did horrible in community college. Although I am not dreaming of going to Harvard, I studied very hard and got a good LSAT score. I have a classmate who got into Yale with a <3.5 GPA. Best of luck. I hope do well in school in the next two years.
