OK, so I have a 173 on the LSAT and a 3.6 from an elite undergrad. My background is in finance, which I think enhances my credibility as a corporate law student.
What are your thoughts on my chances for CCN? Columbia would be my first choice. What do you think I could garner in scholarships from other great T14 schools (Duke/UVA/Northwestern).
Also, I took the LSAT while in college and without much preparation. I know that 173 is a very solid score, but I could score higher if I took some time to practice/prep. However, I would only consider doing so if it would significantly increase my chances of admission.

If you think you can do better you should retake. Study hard and try to get a 180. High 170's could really help in this case with Columbia. People have gotten Harvard this cycle with stats worse than 3.6/176+ and softs worse than yours.J3987 wrote:OK, so I have a 173 on the LSAT and a 3.6 from an elite undergrad. A retake can definitely help you with Harvard. As it stands you should get into at least 1 of CCN and probably 2 and should have solid scholarships from the lower T-14.

Assuming I do not retake, Would it be worth ED-ing to Columbia? I would be fine paying full tuition.

You have a good shot of getting into Columbia without an ED, and an even better one with one. We're in a pretty similar boat, I'm ~3.6 174. I considered retaking last year but decided against it. Sure 3 points higher could get me a better shot at Harvard but it would by no means be a sure thing, and the retake wouldn't guarantee a better score either. I remember seeing statistics showing the 174 retakers scored a fair amount lower on their retake.J3987 wrote:Assuming I do not retake, Would it be worth ED-ing to Columbia? If you're 100% ok with full tuition and going to Columbia I don't consider an ED there a bad option... Sticker would be a nightmare for me though, so I won't be doing that.

Still though, keep in mind you could get in without ED.
No ED
