PhD with uGPA: 3.45, First Practice LSAT: 172
I have my bachelors in Chemical Engineering with a GPA of 3.45, currently working on PhD in Chemical Engineering with a GPA of 3.67.
I took my first practice LSAT and got a 172.I have the powerscore books and more practice tests and I feel like I can raise my LSAT score.
Wondering what my chances are at Berkeley?
How high would I have to get my LSAT to have a chance at Stanford?
A bit more information in case it's helpful:
I worked as an engineer through most of undergrad, which helps explain away some of the bad GPA. I continued in the same job full time for a year after graduating before going to graduate school.

Berk and Stanford are going to be tough for you no matter what with your uGPA. That being said, score a 172+ for real and you have a very good shot at the rest of the T-14 except for Yale and Harvard.fra wrote:I have my bachelors in Chemical Engineering with a GPA of 3.45, currently working on PhD in Chemical Engineering with a GPA of 3.67.

That is a really solid PT. If you can perform like that on the real test, you should have a good shot at a variety of top schools.

I'm an oldie, but i think you get one hypo "what are my chances". And PhD counts as a decent enough soft, especially in engineering, and Berk is IP and soft conscious (at least in my cycle).mu13ski wrote:http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 9&t=170051fra wrote:I have my bachelors in Chemical Engineering with a GPA of 3.45, currently working on PhD in Chemical Engineering with a GPA of 3.67.

OP that is an amazing score for a first go around. Congrats!! I think those softs and a score like a 173+ will definitely get you into Berkley and a very good shot at Stanford, especially since apps are down.
Keep it up!!

Berkeley and Stanford rarely dip that low in GPA. Both are going to be huge reaches.

Is there anything else that I can do in the next two years to increase my chances at Berkeley, or am I screwed?
