.
I just got my score back and I am okay about it. I'm okay because I have 2 more times to take it and I was PTing in the high 160s so I know I could probably get that on the retake. I just want to see where I am at! Thanks all

Re: 3.7X 163 AA URM
An LSAT score of 163 can work wonders among the Top-14 law schools for an AA male with a 3.7x GPA. Nevertheless, retake if this was your first sitting for the LSAT as Harvard is not an unrealistic target.

Right on thanks. I'm just preparing for the worst case scenario of not improving.

You are in a good position now but retake and you can get $$$ or HYS.

AA female with similar stats. I'm in at one of MVP and snagged all of the lower T14. Still not sure about money at any T14s, but I've yet to be rejected anywhere.
Retake if you want HYS or CCN with $$.

Re: 3.7X 163 AA URM
Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I was wondering your thoughts on retaking in September. I wonder this because of the fact that I may not be ready to retake in June but I still want to be able to apply as early as possible. I haven't really studied lsat for 2 months, but my PT average was around 166/167 if this matters...
So, would it be better to apply in September with a June LSAT score or Nov when I'd get my September score.

Study and take it in September. You'll still be early enough. As it stands now, a 163 is pretty good for some of the T-14 anyway.90convoy wrote:Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I was wondering your thoughts on retaking in September. Alright thanks. Also my gpa is about to take a severe drop because I stupidly missed some assignments in a class...probably talking like 3.67/3.69 by time of application. Hopefully this doesn't change TOO muchjacketyellow wrote:Study and take it in September. You'll still be early enough. Dont graduate then, get it a 3.7 and you will be strong median range for a various of t-14s.90convoy wrote:Alright thanks. lol what, you can take a summer course or two to bump your gpa to 3.7, and you would be in the GPA median for Columbia, how is that bad advice.BillPackets wrote:^k that's really f***ing ridic advice.lawschool2014hopeful wrote:

Re: 3.7X 163 AA URM
I would be able to get it to a 3.7 if I took two summer classes, but I don't have that kind of money. Would the extra .04 I'd be gaining on my GPA really help me that much? I'd have to pay for the classes with my credit card and I don't need debt right now.lawschool2014hopeful wrote:lol what, you can take a summer course or two to bump your gpa to 3.7, and you would be in the GPA median for Columbia, how is that bad advice.BillPackets wrote:^k that's really f***ing ridic advice.lawschool2014hopeful wrote:

Also, my next semester (Fall 2014) is SUPER easy. Probably would swing all A's which would give me 3.75+. Would that matter at all to law schools? Thanks

Plus the 3.7 is median overall. This is a URM applicant. Lol.

A 3.6 is not gonna make that much difference for AA applicants with a 163. You'll be fine.

Re: 3.7X 163 AA URM
so when you are URM, you can ignore the GPA median as long you are close? That's news to me.
