Chances? I went to community college...
I spent my first 2 years at a community college and my undergrad is from a small state school. My GPA is a 3.75. Also, during my 2nd semester I failed 3 classes (family issues). I retook the classes and received an A in them but the original Fs remain on my transcript.
I'm hoping for a 170-173 on my LSAT in June.
I'm having a hard time figuring out what level of law school I should be applying to? I feel the typical gpa/lsat combo doesn't apply because I went to a very low caliber college and have those Fs.
Has anyone else come from a similar situation? Where were you accepted into?
Edit:
I suppose I should add I'm an unmarried Caucasian female. I am an Aviation Science major, commercial rated pilot, cancer survivor, early high school graduate, and have done a lot of volunteer work.
Edit: Using an LSAC calculator my gpa comes to 3.4.

The "caliber" of your college won't matter. All the law schools are going to care about is your GPA. That's it. A 3.7 from a lesser school beats a 3.6 from a better school.
The thing is, when LSAC calculates your GPA, those F's will probably drop it significantly.

The F's will be factored into your GPA, so it will probably not be 3.75.
Going to a CC I do not think you will really effect your chances.
You should perform to your numbers, neither of which you have yet.

I did not know that the GPA would be calculated that way. That, quite frankly, sucks.

I think there are websites that can help you calculate your LSAC GPA.aviatrixsteff wrote:I did not know that the GPA would be calculated that way. That, quite frankly, sucks.

If you do break the 170s, you're still looking good for some of the splitter friendly T14s and a lot of strong regionals. It's not like your life is over. Just makes the LSAT even more critical.
