159/3.74 Fordham
159 LSAT
3.74 GPA Accounting, 3.84 in major
In undergrad
Chances for Fordham?
Softs:
-Senior class president
-School newspaper writer
-Run a summer camp during the summer for underprivileged children in WV
-2 solid internships (one law related)
-worked as a server/bartender all four years in undergrad
Should I retake in February? I was PTing around 165, nerves got the best of me on December test day

Your gpa and your softs are great (except I don't think they care about the waiting/bartender, don't waste space on your resume with that)
and you MAY get in, but at full sticker price. If you can't handle the 50k a year, retake.

This. Absolutely retake. And full sticker at Fordham is a non-starter.brotherdarkness wrote:That GPA deserves better than a 159. Retake.

Do you have to apply this cycle? You only have a month until the test. Maybe that will be enough, but retaking in June has some advantages. You can get in your apps nice and early next cycle, you'll have plenty of time to knock that score into the 170s, and you'll gain a year of work experience. Plus you'll have a much broader range of schools to apply to (ones that have a Dec LSAT cutoff).

Sit this cycle out and re-apply next year.

I feel like I am completely indifferent to taking a gap year or not. I see pros and cons for both. I feel like I could definitely work hard on my score and get there so maybe this is the better option.Max324 wrote:Do you have to apply this cycle? You only have a month until the test. 1. Get your CPA.
2. Work at an accounting firm for 2-3 years.
3. Max out your LSAT retakes.
4. Apply to law school.
5. Profit.
I have a similar GPA and a finance/accounting background and my work experience did wonders for my career goals and I couldn't picture going to law school without that experience.
