As long as you understand that statistically the posters above will be on the mark most of the time, you never know who your softs will speak to. I was a shade below 3.5 and 166. Figured I was wasting my application fee to Berkeley. Almost didn't apply and that would have been a huge mistake.
It's called a "reach" for a reason. If you can stomach the app fees and paying full fare if you get in, there's little harm in applying and seeing. But you may want to sign up for Feb retake too.

you must be a very special person (and I don't mean that facetiously)Rotor wrote:As long as you understand that statistically the posters above will be on the mark most of the time, you never know who your softs will speak to. Not particularly. Military, but not SEAL Team 6 or any such thing, no combat time, etc. excellent recs probably played a bigger role than the softs.jbagelboy wrote:you must be a very special person (and I don't mean that facetiously)Rotor wrote:As long as you understand that statistically the posters above will be on the mark most of the time, you never know who your softs will speak to. I'm surprised that 15-18 are so averse to people with OP's numbers. After reading the question I figured his chances would be better than they are. 19-20 is a bit meaningless since those schools see plenty of variance every year. At least 15-18 seem to be the same schools year in and out. I'd guess WUSTL at sticker is doable, especially if their median slips, which seems likely.
