4.0 / 171, need a scholarship
Can I expect a sizable scholarship from any Top 14? Top 10? Top 6? My dream school is NYU, but I can't go without merit money. I have reasonably good softs, I think -- very active in student govt, international research experience, an undergraduate thesis -- but I'm coming straight out of undergrad from a large public university.

You have a decent shot at getting full scholarship at NYU, especially if you do well at applying to one of their named schollies like RTK. Darrow is also very likely and if you get 175+ you should expect full scholly from CLS.

I think you have a very good chance of money from T-14, though not sure from NYU. Merit money is very unpredictable, just apply widely across the T-14.
Coming from a large public university will have very minimal or no impact on your app - you have a 4.0, and that is all that matters.
You will have a very good cycle, congrats!

you'll probably be choosing from one of HYS, a CCN half ride, and a lower T14 full ride.

You're vastly overstating the predictability of scholarship offers. High numbers put you in play for large sums of money, but they don't come close to guaranteeing anything at any particular school. Many people with YHS numbers get much smaller offers at individual schools than others with equivalent or lower numbers. The best you can say is that someone with very high numbers is likely to receive full-ride offers from at least a couple of T13s but isn't reasonably assured of any particular outcome at any particular school.hcrimson2014 wrote:You have a decent shot at getting full scholarship at NYU, especially if you do well at applying to one of their named schollies like RTK.
