First post, but lurked the entire October waiting list thread.
I should note I do plan on taking the test again in December, but I'm interested in what you guys think my chances are with my scores right now.
My goal is anywhere in the top 10-20, with reaches with CCN and Michigan, Penn and Virginia as well.
GPA: 3.45 from NYU with some softs
LSAT: 165
What would also be helpful is what you think I would need to at least be considered at my reach schools if my current scores don't cut it. 168? 170? 172? Etc.
Thanks for any help.

Re: My chances?
Not to burst your bubble, but you're under median LSAT at all but 1 school in the top 20 and under 25th percentile at all but 4. You need a better LSAT score if you want to crack the top 20.

167 minimum. 171 for chances at T6.

Re: My chances?
Good luck in December! You should be spending ALL your time right now focusing on the LSAT, you really can do it, and with a 3.45 and a top score, you'll be in great shape! Don't worry about your chances with your current score, because you're not going to apply with it since doing so would be a waste of a 3.45 (for some of us super-splitters, that's an enviable, please-don't-waste-it GPA).
Instead, you're going to work your ass off studying the LSAT right now, get a 99th percentile score in December, and have multiple schools in the T14 fight over you in the Spring! Get to it!

Re: My chances?
Thanks for the advice guys! My goal is 170. I've practice tested at 169 pretty consistently, so I know I can get it. @McGruff, I won't waste the gpa I promise haha
