Does major matter?
LSAT: 165
GPA: 3.21
I'm a double major in biology and chemistry with a minor in economics. I have 3 years of practical (in lab) research experience. I also am a paralegal at a mid size law firm. I attend a top 60 school, and am part of lgbt (not sure if I should include this last part). I have decent softs (captain of the mock trial team, TA organic chemistry, etc etc), but nothing spectacular. I also have documented learning disorders (again, not sure if I should include this).
I'm retaking the LSAT Saturday and hopefully will improve my score from there. But I wanted to know what y'all thought of my chances. And if I wasted my college years studying science.
I'd like to apply to UT-Austin and a few of the T14 schools.
Thoughts?

Chances of admssion at every T18 school are very unlikely since you are below both their medians

Frustratingly enough, you also picked two majors that aren't really going to help you with IP law.
Go get your PhD or something and enjoy a wonderful career working nine months out of the year in a significantly more secure field.

Majors could help with employment as a patent litigator/prosecutor, but it wont affect your law school applications. Fortunately, it sounds like you have 2 more semesters of grades to complete prior to applying (do NOT apply as a senior now, only consider it fall 2014.) and a year to retake. With another set of A's, your chances with a retake over 170 are non-negligible at Penn, UVA, ect., even NYU.
Good luck with the rest of your senior year if your a senior and hope you take the sound advice above. If you graduated and you cant raise your grades, still retake.
P.S. whats a "top 60" school is that a new thing?
