Georgetown ED? 167/3.7

Post by haedon » Mon Jun 10, 2013 8:01 pm

What are my chances for the upcoming cycle? I know general advice is retake, but the 167 was my third try. I can afford sticker, so I'm looking into an ED.

If I did choose to wait long enough for a fourth try (I was testing at or above my 167 consistently, with a one-time high of 178) how would this impact admissions offices' view of me? Would they care?

Even if you can afford it, its still a rip off.

You probably wouldnt get in if the 3.7x is below their GPA median. They have no incentive to lock up a seat with a candidate below both medians.

If the 3.7x is at or above their gpa median, you have a decent shot. I would look into what the median was last year and historically.

It would be viewed as a negative soft or ignored completely but your cycle would still go much better if you scored higher than if you apply today.

If you apply today, at the very least EA Cornell first before sending in your ED to GULC.

You should absolutely retake if you were scoring consistently higher than your score on PTs. What was your range? If it was 167-168, maybe not. If it was 169-171, absolutely retake.

I was planning on EAing Cornell, for the record. In light of my numbers it's easily my top choice.

My test range as of my last test was anywhere from 165-174, more often than not hitting 169. I took my first test February of '12, and was planning on applying to most of the T-14's with the understanding that I would be able to get on a few waitlists this year and then send in a February '14 score.

Would schools be able to rescind an acceptance after a fourth LSAT?

Yep, definitely take then. Inform schools that you are doing this too when you send in your apps.

Significantly better with even one point.

EDIT> Actually, even with a 167 you have a pretty solid chance.
