T-14 Chances for a retaker with hope
I know this type of post is tired but I still would like to hear some opinions.
After a less than stellar admissions cycle, most likely going to take a year off and retake the LSAT. I have a terrible GPA (from a Tier 1 University) and am a URM. Is it worth retaking and attempting to be a splitter, or trying to transfer out of somewhere like Penn State?
Thanks for the help!

You'll get an unanimous "retake" cry from here.

I am definitely leaning that way. I know I can score higher, and I realllly want to go somewhere better!

As a URM, that's especially true. Good luck! I recommend all the Manhattan LSAT books if you haven't tried them already. I'm currently working on my June retake and the books have been quite helpful.Otisroberts wrote:I am definitely leaning that way. Also, Bee: I love that show, but the scene in which your avatar depicts made me cringe.

2.9 gpa, 156. Scored in the mid 160's before and under performed on test day. Really don't want to settle for less and am bent on retaking.

Shoot high man. There is nothing those 175's can do that you can't do if you put your mind in it and take the time to master it!

Retaking is far easier, far cheaper, and far more convenient than gambling on trying to transfer up. You're making the right move. A mid-high 160s score would likely get you into T14s even with that GPA. Good luck

Your URM gives you an enormous advantage in admissions. This is not so in the transferring game. You will benefit enormously from a retake.

Thanks everyone, that was basically the final push I needed in making the decision!
