What is my reach?
Please estimate my reach, or rather, what schools I should be applying to. Financial cost aside.
GPA: 3.04 (Honors Program Graduate) Not sure if they give boosts for Honors....
LSAT: 160-165 Range (I am taking the February LSAT)
Work Experience: Part-Time at a doctor's office as an office administrator for a consecutive 4 years and 4 months
Ethnicity: Mexican-Brazilian
Softs:
Many student academic organizations
A lot of community service
14 Mixed Martial Arts titles
P.S. Ultimately I desire to go to Vanderbilt. George Washington would be my 2nd choice. What do you guys think? Are these schools our of my reach? What do you think my reach is?

You'll need a real score to answer this question. Aim for at least a 170. Good luck.

3.04 and a 165 would not even have a chance to get past the throw away stage at Vandy. Dont even think thats competitive at GW (am I wrong on this?)vayze wrote:Please estimate my reach, or rather, what schools I should be applying to. Financial cost aside.

Anyways, you dont have a score. Come back when you do and people can help. But dont think about your "range" you always want to be striving for the highest score possible. Dont settle for a 165. You need a 170+ with that GPA to go to a decent school.

Have you checked out http://www.lawschoolpredictor.com/ ?
It's certainly not 100% or the only thing you should base your choices off of, but it's still a pretty neat tool.

That site is completely (and I mean completely) useless because it doesn't take any cutoffs (floors, medians, quartiles) into consideration. Nor does it account for any of the idiosyncrasies of individual schools. Use --LinkRemoved-- and exclude ED and either exclude URM or use URM exclusively based on what camp you fall in.Merylian wrote:Have you checked out http://www.lawschoolpredictor.com/ ?

Re: What is my reach?
According to LSN Vanderbilt is dicey at 165, and there is no reason you should settle for that score. See what you get on the LSAT, and if a summer retake is in your best interest. A 165 would also give you a shot at GW, though not a great one.
Aim high and utilize your retakes. There isn't too much data on LSN admittedly, but if you can pull your score up to 169-170 area you could be looking at some T14 acceptances.

For perspective, only about 125 MAs score 161+ per cycle. Only about 10 score 170+ per cycle.AssumptionRequired wrote:You need a 170+ with that GPA to go to a decent school.
