Re: What are my chances as a 3.85/160 MA URM
Honestly, retake in June, reapply next September. The difference between a 160 and a 165 is massive with your GPA. We're talking Northwestern at sticker vs. Columbia.
On the other hand, there was an MA kid last cycle who got into Columbia with a 160 and a 3.85~. Maybe apply everywhere, and if you don't get into a school you'd be okay with going to in the fall, retake?

Good decision!!Dr.Zer0 wrote:I guess retake is the best option. It's too late to apply this cycle imo. Better go join the June retake thread =/

Hey,
You're definitely right with the retake. Don't waste your great GPA.
You have better stats but feel free to look at my cycle so far. I'm currently debating whether to accept a TFA offer or retake in October.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about the scholarships.

Thanks. Good luck with your cycle (after your retake, with your gpa, you should be set).
Also, thanks nigerian22. I feel that with a retake (if I score where I can), I should be competitive.

You'll get T14, but like everyone else has been saying, you should wait and retake! That GPA is sterling and gives you a shot at every school in the country. If I were you, I wouldn't settle for less than HYS or T14 full-ride. Studying for the LSAT is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars of scholarship money in the end.

wow, great work!!
I think you should take feb/june no matter what and decide whether to sit out after getting the score and negotiating.
