The 174 was on my second LSAT (165 on first). I applied to all the T14 except Stanford, Berkeley, Duke, and Cornell. Sent my apps in week before Christmas, have decent softs (IMO) and will have close to two years of post UG work experience at a good job (in realm of politics). What do you guys think?

You will get a good idea from lawschoolnumbers.com or mylsn.info since you're a standard candidate mostly (nothing spectacular (non-urm, no crazy softs)

To give it a shot in terms of my opinion you're in with $$$ at ccn and down. Prob out of Y and a bit better than a coin flip at H.

I understand their statement but I wouldn't necessarily do it if I were you.

Duke should be free to apply (waiver) and will give you $$$$ and it gives you the option. You can also use that $$ to negotiate with.

Stanford / Berkley I can't see the reasoning behind so much. You'll def get Berk and again reason follows like Duke. Stanford is up in the air but it's an amazing school and I guess it's similar to the argument to apply to HLS even if you don't make the numbers for the "what if..." value.

Edit. The Stanford / Berk also is a personal preference IMO. For instance, if I had your numbers I'd want HLS or CLS personally for many personal reasons (closer to family, future market, etc). I think you can get a comparable SLS education / prospects from east coast schools. I'll probably be flamed but it's TLS.

Stanford and Harvard really are pretty comparable. OP's basically a lock at H, and doesn't really care about S. Personally, I think applying to these three schools without fee waivers is a waste of 200+ dollars.

I was exaggerating some/being glib because I was a little annoyed that you couldn't be bothered to read the stickies BUT you really should apply to Stanford at least. You're close to a lock for H (so you shouldn't have anxiety about it), but you are not a lock, and at the very least a Stanford acceptance would be a nice bargaining chip in negotiating scholarships with CCN. Duke and Berkeley would be less useful for scholarship negotiations (and really, the chances you'll be hurt by not applying to them are very low), but I just really don't think this is a time to be penny pinching about a couple apps, when the right acceptances and offers can get you so many thousand dollars worth of leverage.
