URM 3.5/173 late cycle chances?
Hey y'all
Due to unforeseen circumstances in my personal life, I am just now preparing to send off applications, and want to get an idea of my chances before dropping hundreds upon hundreds in dang application fees.
The rundown:
3.5 at a top 10 undergrad.
173 LSAT - December
URM (Mexican)
One strong LOR, one average.
Negatives:
Weak Softs since college - Graduated in 2011, and have been working at a start up for almost a year, but was "making films" or otherwise "finding myself" before than. Not much here that would differentiate me except perhaps some strong college leadership.
Late cycle
So the question is, given that most schools are well into the admissions process, which of the t-14 do I realistically have a shot at this cycle?
Thanks guys!

URM with a 173? You're in all over.

Check LSN, you're auto-admit at Harvard.
3.5+/172+ is auto-admit everywhere except Y and S. Maybe some waitlists for yield protection.
Apply, like now.

Sorry, forgot to mention that the 173 was a retake. I got a 169 in Oct. Does this still matter, or are the t-14 just looking at the higher these days?

Doesn't matter at all. A ridiculously low number of URMs score above 169, ever.Aporia88 wrote:Sorry, forgot to mention that the 173 was a retake. I got a 169 in Oct. Does this still matter, or are the t-14 just looking at the higher these days?

169/URM is still auto-admit at Harvard. Heck, a 163/URM is practically auto-admit at Harvard this cycle.Aporia88 wrote:Sorry, forgot to mention that the 173 was a retake. I got a 169 in Oct. Does this still matter, or are the t-14 just looking at the higher these days?
ETA: Just realized that I am a December retaker. I recommend waiting a month or two so that I can get my acceptances before you submit your application.

Cool thanks for the input gentlemen! I am still quite worried that most of the available seats will have been snatched up by now, but consider my greatest fears somewhat assuaged.
