lsat 162/gpa 3.6

Post by benhenry » Fri Jan 04, 2013 7:51 am

For anyone with some helpful advice...

Scored a 162 on the December lsat. I majored in political science/pre law at USC and managed a 3.6 gpa.

Where should I apply?

I was thinking USC, maybe Cal, GWU, Duke, Notre Dame

Anyone heard of anyone with similar a similar score/gpa getting in?

You should retake the LSAT. You are well below all of their LSAT medians and also below their GPA medians. Admission to any of the schools you listed is very unlikely, especially this late in the cycle.

With your current numbers: http://myLSN.info/gs8qsp

With a 5 point increase you would probably get one of GW/ND: http://myLSN.info/wntwnm

With a 170 Duke becomes likely and GW would be a lock (39/39 accepted): http://myLSN.info/nx94sx

Edit: Oops, good catch Nebula. fixed the links.

Are you URM? If not, I think I must be missing something. What Nova posted contains URM included, without your chances are much lower. Cal, Duke, and USC should not even be in your vocabulary at this point.

You have a 0% chance at USC, Berkeley, GWU, and Duke. There is a good chance you are waitlisted at Notre Dame.

You are looking at ASU, UC Davis, Iowa, Wisconsin, UNC, OSU, Maryland, etc.

You either need to 1) retake, 2) pray to get in off the WL at Notre Dame and then pay sticker at one of the most expensive Non-T14's, or 3) go to the best school in the area in which you want to work.
