URM 3.7/160 (AA Male)
Hello TLS,
Bombed the LSAT. A retake is not an option. Is there any school worth going to that will accept me? I'm interested in Biglaw (domestic and overseas).
Thanks

It should be -- especially if you feel you could do better. With even a 166, you would have a fair to good chance at HLS and SLS and good to very good chances throughout the rest of the T14. You would probably get substantial money somewhere as well.VikingsFan13 wrote:Hello TLS,

MyLSN indicates that your current strongest chances would be at Chicago, Duke, Cornell, and GULC. However, the data set is too small for these percentages to be of much use one way or the other. Get fee waivers and apply to the entire T14. Even YLS lets people in every year with scores several points lower than yours. Your chances at YHS are slim, but I'd still take the shot were I in your shoes.
That said, retake. Go to a T14 tuition-free (or go to YHS) instead of being a debt slave for many years. An improved LSAT could be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars to you in tuition savings and in career earnings.
Retake. Raise your chances of getting into a school that places a lot better than GULC.I'm interested in Biglaw (domestic and overseas).

AA male URM at 3.7/165+ makes you competitive at most of the T14, probably with money. There's no reason at all why a retake is not an option.

Wow. Yea, I get the picture, lol. Unfortunately, I can't retake (long and personal story). I guess I'll just apply and see what happens. I'd be happy with GULC, though. Thanks for the advice.

With a very limited sample size, you have a shot at everywhere from Chicago on down. I would blanket the T14 and see what happens.

What are my chances at GULC? Should I ED there?

Okay, sit the next year to two years out until you can.VikingsFan13 wrote:Unfortunately, I can't retake (long and personal story).
Think about it this way, if you wait and increase your score from a 160 to even a 165 (This is definitely not difficult, Worm increased his score from 162 to 170 over the span of two months of fairly pathetic study habits), you will get tons of T14 money, and potentially HYS. That's quantitatively worth 150k-200k in the short term, and worth anywhere from 500k to 2 million in the long term.
Would you be willing to sit the cycle out if someone paid you 150k this next year to do so?

I know... I was pretty shocked given GULC's reputation on TLS as being stingy. The email I received said it was a mixture of merit/need-based aid, so maybe that explains it?

Possibly, I'm not sure. Congrats either way!
