UVA ED app was just "completed" today-too late? 173/3.3
173, 3.26 uGPA, 3.3 LSDAS. Good letters of recommendation. One is from the head of our pre-law department/associate dean of undergraduate education and I'm good friends with him and made an A in his Constitutional Law class (which is supposed to be one of the hardest poli sci classes in our university) and the other is from my mock trial coach (I'm captain/program coordinator and good friends with him as well). For softs, I don't have too much, I took my LSAT as a freshman, so I've worked for The Princeton Review as a tutor and recently I started working for a start-up local LSAT Tutoring company, and I've had one internship at a law firm.
It just took me forever to write a personal statement so I didn't have my app completed and submitted till 12/22 and this morning it's finally showing as "Complete" on the UVA website. Is it too late in the game for my ED to be successful? How much have I hurt my odds by being this late?

So with that in consideration, how likely is it that I get accepted?

With a 173 you're definitely in ED.

I would be very surprised if you didn't get in. UVA seems to be taking anyone with a 3.0 and 170.

EDing UVA was probably a mistake, but if you really want to go there yeah you will get in.

I mean I was pretty damn set on UVA... I know I'm out at HYS and Columbia due to GPA. NYU would be too expensive in terms of cost of living...
Am I missing out on any other possibilities due to my ED?

Chi likes high gpas but I mean you have a 173 which is over median. I would lookup RD UVA stats to see what your chances are, that way you could get some potential scholarship $. At this point though if you have already submitted ED and would be heartbroken if you didn't get in I prob wouldn't change to RD because that's basically saying "I don't want to go to your school as bad as I thought"asoularisen wrote:I mean I was pretty damn set on UVA... Yeah I mean my ED app is in and I do have my heart set on UVA so I'm okay with that decision. I wanted to play it safe, because Chicago is still a long shot and I would hate to be out at CCN and not get UVA RD. Some scholarship money would have been nice, but I'm fine playing it safe.Br3v wrote:Chi likes high gpas but I mean you have a 173 which is over median. I made the same decision and had same thought process with a slightly higher gpa and a little more slightly lower lsat.asoularisen wrote:Yeah I mean my ED app is in and I do have my heart set on UVA so I'm okay with that decision. You would have had a fighting chance at Chicago off the WL as well as Penn, but if you prefer Virginia to both, your decision is an alright one for you. You really can't and shouldn't change your mind now so congrats in advance
