3.34 GPA; 165 LSAT
I recently took my lsat for the first time and I scored a 165. Current gpa is about 3.34 in Poli Sci at FAU and was wondering which law schools would be the best law schools to apply to. I do not have any extracurricular activities that take place on campus. However, i work at a law firm and shadow an attorney anywhere between 24 to 27 hours a week. I do krav maga on a daily basis as well as other acitivities which do not coincide with my time on campus. I was a pre med major with the intent of going to med school but realized that a path in law feels better. Thank you in advance for the assistance.

Re: 3.34 GPA; 165 LSAT
lawschoolnumbers.com.
Also, the legal market sucks a lot and your stats aren't that great. (Not trying to be a bitch, my GPA is basically the same.) Barring a retake in which you pick up 5+ points on the LSAT, you won't be receiving significant scholarship money from any school worth going to (unless you're an underrepresented minority--are you?).
Can you get into med school with your grades? You should probably go to med school.

You can get into UGA, and probably pay instate tuition, which is like 15k/year, and might pick up money besides that. I domnt think you are screwed. You'll have some options.

Thank you for the assistance. This is my first post on this forum so, I figured that these schools are presumably within my reach based on the provided site(s)? Again thank you in advance for the assistance.

Tulane--Reach father went there for undergrad
UGA
Pepperdine
Wake Forest
Midrange
Georgia State
FSU
Loyola
Loyola--Chicago
Miami
Temple
Safety
Syracuse
Michigan State
Buffalo-Suny
Penn State
Northeastern
Is this a good type of set up to go for. Please be straight forward.

Hi there from a fellow FAU grad.
If you want to work in Florida, UF and FSU are your best options. You'll likely get at least some $ at both, more from FSU. You will also have a shot at Emory, though more than likely waitlisted.
You have to understand that the schools you have listed are all over the place. You need to figure out where you want to work and then apply to schools accordingly. You literally listed schools from Buffalo to Malibu. You need to be more focused. You are most likely going to work in the state where your school is located.

I think the reach is more likely to be along the lines of gw if you want to practice in DC. The 165 is just way too low for GULC, but GW is definitely in... Throw some more from 20-30 in there as well. Law school numbers shows pretty much no one in the past number of years getting in with the stats

Of these, apply to UF, FSU, UGA, Fordham and Emory. Your legacy probably won't help much but you can try GULC if you absolutely must.
The only school in NY you should apply to is Fordham. The rest are awful schools that will leave you with good job prospects. You have a very small chance of getting into Fordham off the waitlist, otherwise, don't go to NY.
You are 100% in at UGA, and will probably get waitlisted at Emory, so I don't see a good reason to apply to Georgia State.
UF and FSU are the only schools in Florida I would advise you to attend. I wouldn't go to Miami, even with the scholarship you will get, over FSU or UF.

Re: 3.34 GPA; 165 LSAT
I saw you orginally had Mich State on your list. They seem to be giving away full schollys to people with your numbers this cycle. Not sure what you career goals/situation are, but it might be worth an app.

Question regarding myLSN.info. When you are filtering by years is it better to filter within a three year period(09-12) or 4 to 5 (07-12)? which is more accurate? I'm aasking because from my understanding don't law schools become more difficult to get into by a yearly basis? Thank you for the assistance.

Re: 3.34 GPA; 165 LSAT
It depends. 08 and 09 were awful years to try to get into law school so they don't really compare with what this cycle and last cycle were/will be like. Its cyclical.Dreadnought wrote:Question regarding myLSN.info. When you are filtering by years is it better to filter within a three year period(09-12) or 4 to 5 (07-12)? which is more accurate?
