2.8/178 UChicago
Started college well but grades got worse then recovered by the last year (5th) with an annual general GPA of 3.98 of mostly major classes. No recent softs, other than two investment banking internships. No good excuses for performance (unless you count an addendum on sloth). Also, I am an international student. What are my prospects? & how can I improve them (if at all)? Thanks for any advice.

I haven't checked law school numbers for a while, which I suggest you do for every school you're curious about, but I doubt you have a shot. Sorry bro but a 2.8 is very low for Chicago. I'd say you have a great shot at MVP down with some potential scholarship money.

You got a halfway decent shot at northwestern. Probably best you'll get.

Doesn't this mean LSs don't have to report his GPA?dilettante wrote:Also, I am an international student.
Not really sure how international student cycles play out though

I did my undergrad work at UChicago, I'd be happy with any one of MVP.Mal Reynolds wrote:I haven't checked law school numbers for a while, which I suggest you do for every school you're curious about, but I doubt you have a shot. I've changed my great shot to a maybe. I think DF is right. I'm a little rusty with LSN.dilettante wrote:I did my undergrad work at UChicago, I'd be happy with any one of MVP.Mal Reynolds wrote:I haven't checked law school numbers for a while, which I suggest you do for every school you're curious about, but I doubt you have a shot. By far your best shots at the T14 are UVA, Northwestern, and Georgetown. You have a slim chance at the rest, but not non-existent considering the decrease in applicants. Expect a couple waitlists as schools might hold onto you to average their LSAT median late in the cycle.
If you don't need financial aid money, I would ED to UVA. You should generally apply to everywhere from Chicago on down.

I'm pretty sure that's only if he went to school overseas and LSAC couldn't convert his grades to come up with a standard GPA. But he says he did his undergrad at Chicago and we know his GPA so yes, it would still be reported.sinfiery wrote:Doesn't this mean LSs don't have to report his GPA?dilettante wrote:Also, I am an international student.

LSP is pretty worthless in general, but especially so for splitters.John_rizzy_rawls wrote:http://www.lawschoolpredictor.com/wp-co ... ograms.htm

OP why did you change from 2.8/179 to 2.8/178 in your thread title?
