Multiple LSATs and Harvard
Ok, so I have widely disparate LSAT scores and wanted TLS's collective wisdom:
153, 160, 175
The first test I wrote right after a family tragedy and the second a few days after moving to England for a year. Probably poor judgment on my part but I will be writing an LSAT addendum.
My LSDAS GPA is 4.02
Softs are pretty good, solid internships, exchange program, graduate degree from a top UK university
Will I be looked at as a 4.02/175 or a 4.02/163?
Thanks everyone!

Re: Multiple LSATs and Harvard
Can you please come back to TLS and post your cycle outcome? It would be tremendously helpful to future applicants.

They will look at your highest lsat and gpa. Yes they will see your other LSATs and may (probably not) take that into consideration, but they really have no incentive to do that unless you are being compared to someone with the exact same stats/softs/etc

Re: Multiple LSATs and Harvard
Yeah this is true in general but idk if we have ever seen a 153->175. If it was like 165->175 I'd say it would make no difference but this will be an interesting case.Br3v wrote:They will look at your highest lsat and gpa. The scores are far enough apart that they won't care too much. However, one of the big three may have some concern, just because they can be finicky like that.

175/4.02? C seems to be a lock with $$. In at H.wert3813 wrote:You will get into at least one of HYSC. But I to am curious to see what your cycle is. Could very well be all four. Could also be one of the four.jayz99 wrote:Ok, so I have widely disparate LSAT scores and wanted TLS's collective wisdom:

If anyone has a chance at Y, it would be a 176(75%)/4.0+ so you're as close as you can get to their highest standards
I'd be shocked if you get dinged anywhere but for Y/P reasons
this will really put the multiple lsats mean nothing case to the test though
+1 for making a LSN

This is true but I thought maybe being at/> the new 75% mediums would over-ride that.acrossthelake wrote:I wouldn't be surprised by a Yale or Stanford ding, particularly Yale. Yale is unpredictable.sinfiery wrote:

Guess there really never is a guarantee.

Re: Multiple LSATs and Harvard
The vast majority of schools (probably every one except Y) only take your highest LSAT score because it's the only number reported to US News. It is directly against a schools' interest to "average" or even "consider" multiple scores. You are above both medians for every single law school in the country (and above almost every 75th). To completely answer your question, it is helpful to mention the class sizes for HYS.Will I be looked at as a 4.02/175 or a 4.02/163?
Yale (#1) = 203 (c/o 2015 reported)
Stanford (#2) = ~180
Harvard (#3) = 557 (c/o 2015 reported)
Harvard will have little choice but to see you purely as a 175/4.02. With this cycle widely predicted to be even more down than the last, due to a HUGE class size they will have way too much trouble finding enough people above their LSAT median, let alone above BOTH their medians to shoot themselves in the foot by nitpicking over nothing.
Y/S are different animals entirely because they are at the very top and have classes 1/3 the size of Harvard. Its a lot easier to be picky when you only need 90 high scorers/GPAs to keep up the medians vs needing 280. However, if you get denied from S/Y I doubt it would be due to your multiple scores. At that level, the rest of your application will make or break you and your multiple scores would doubtfully have any discernable impact. Maybe if your numbers were slightly lower it could be a tie break, but I think your GPA puts you out of that danger.
To summarize:
You are a 175/4.02.
H - IN (unless you REALLY fuck up your app / CF issues)
S - Softs (PS/LOR's/Resume etc.) will make/break you
Y - Softs (PS/Y250/LOR's/Resume etc.) will make/break you

Re: Multiple LSATs and Harvard
I have multiple friends here at H who got low-160s and 175+ LSATs.
Harvard just takes the highest score.
You'll be here next year, unless you go to Y.

Re: Multiple LSATs and Harvard
You definitely don't need to worry. I had 2 scores, the higher of which was only a 171. I got into both H and S (didn't apply to Y). None of these places have any reason to average. Oh and my softs were about equivalent to yours.

Haha, or S! Things are pretty great out in Palo Alto.Doorkeeper wrote:I have multiple friends here at H who got low-160s and 175+ LSATs.

(I just mean that I don't think Y is the only school s/he may end up turning H down for, that's all)
