I have an LSAT of 172 and a 3.68 GPA.
I want to apply early decision to either Columbia or Virginia, Columbia preferably but I don't know what my chances are - please help me out here!
I do think my stats're pretty low, so I'm a little hesitant to, since I'd be passing up a great chance at bolstering my UVA app if I didn't get in (where I'd very much like to go, too).
A note on my GPA - I got a 3.02 my freshman year. The last three years have since seen an an LSAC-styled GPA of 3.86, with a 4.08 my senior year. Does that make a difference in terms of admissions, at all? I have written a short addendum explaining a three-month case of mono that year, will that hopefully clear things up, or does it sound like a cheap excuse?
Outside of that, I'm not a URM, letters of rec should all be good, nothing else too significant. Thanks.

Honestly I wouldn't ED if I had your numbers. You have an ok chance at Columbia already and NYU is pretty much yours probably. UVA will probably just be a waitlist. Not worth giving up the chance at money this cycle.
And your addendum won't make a difference. All they care about is your LSAC GPA.

Do you by chance have post grad work experience? If you do I think you should ED Northwestern since your numbers seem somewhat competitive for their ED 150K scholarship.
Hope that helped

No need to ED. You'll very likely get Columbia RD.

So we're numbers twins, but I'm a virginia resident. Will UVA still be a waitlist?

I haven't checked lsn for 172's, but I imagine that puts you at a good shot UVA RD no?
